Review: Age of Youth

This Review of Age of Youth Contains Some Spoilers in the Form of Fangirl Squees

Guys… this show… What an amazing show!  I picked this up because my twitterfeed was going insane over it.  I had to see what all the fuss was about.  I came in just after episode 8 was aired so I had a lot of catching up to do.  Which I did at lightening speed.  Every available second was spent watching.  Till I was done with what had been aired up to that point and had to wait each week for the new episodes like everyone else.  That was an extreme form of torture!  It was so hard to wait and see what was going to happen to my girls!    I seriously began to think of them as my girls, I was 300% invested in their lives.  For the first time in a long time I feel a huge void now that the show is done.  What am I going to do now without my girls?  If you haven’t watched this show you really should go and do so now!

Oh My Venus: Episode 11

This Review/Recap Contains Spoilers in the Form of Fangirl Squees

It seems to be a theme with this show that the first few episodes of the recent episode backtracks from where the previous episode left us.  Not that I mind… but it sort of ruins the flow for me.  We get left at this moment, which is usually emotionally charged and when we tune back in we are taken out of that moment.  If we needed to feel/know that stuff shouldn’t it have been in there in the first place?  Ah well, at this point I doubt that the show is going to change so let’s move on!

We’re moved back in time to the moment that Executive Choi gives Woo Sik the order to release the news that Young Ho is John Kim.  The news spreads like wildfire and we see individual reactions to it from Chief Min, Grandma, Daddy Sung Chul, Joo Eun, and of course Young Ho himself.  No one is happy, plus Young Ho can’t go home or to the company as there is a huge horde of reporters at both locations so he ends up at Joo Eun’s place.

Oh My Venus: Episode 10

This Review/Recap Contains Spoilers in the Form of Fangirl Squees

It seems to be the trend for this particular show that the opening scene of the new 2-important-peopleepisode backtracks some from where the last episode ended.  It feels a little awkward at times, but I do like the little insights into the scene that we left with the last episode.  In this episode we see Hyun Woo grilling Young Ho and Joo Eun at her restaurant.  Consequently, her ex hubby PD Ko shows up to give her child support and sees Joo Eun with Young Ho.  Not sure exactly why this was important enough to backtrack for.  Also we get a super-duper cute seen of Joon Sung and Ji Woong talking about Joo Eun and Young Ho dating, Ji Woong says he’s happy because it feels like his mom has finally found someone.  Then we’re brought back to the moment that Young Ho admits he’s dating Joo Eun to Chief Min, the two centers of his disparate lives.

Oh My Venus: Episode 9

This Review/Recap Contains Spoilers in the Form of Fangirl Squees

As the episode opens we get some more insight into the how Daddy feels about the takeover, from what I gather he actually approves.  He even comments that now he can meet Young Ho’s mother in heaven without worry.  We flash right back to Young Ho entering his own house and the attack of pain that cripples him.  And from there to Joo Eun finding him.  It is quite the intense scene, he sends her away, orders her away.  For the first time I can really feel the melo rearing its head now.  I must admit they did a truly excellent job with this scene.

Oh My Venus: Episode 8

This Review/Recap Contains Spoilers in the Form of Fangirl Squees

As the episode opens we get a little more insight into the events leading up to the big reveal.  Young Ho knows that he needs to Joo Eun his real identity and even sends her a text telling her that they need to talk.  Not in time, as they meet across the table at the law firm, his secret revealed.  After excusing herself for ten minutes Young Ho follows and they ride the elevator up to the twentieth floor to talk.  Joo Eun is angry and yet Young Ho point blank says that he never promised her anything, in fact they never defined their relationship.  It is hurtful, but true.  I can understand her pain, Woo Sik dumped her on their anniversary and then she discovers her bestie from law school is his new girlfriend.  Even though they shared a kiss and attraction, they weren’t an official couple.  But Joo Eun’s heart is vulnerable and this was just too much.  They agree to return to the conference room and try to pretend as if nothing happened.
